Jeremiah's Story of Hope

In Kenya, millions of children face the harsh realities of abandonment, abuse, poverty, and vulnerability. Basic necessities, a quality education, and a stable, loving environment often remain out of reach. Many children are left with no living relatives and no sense of identity. This is the story of Jeremiah.

Abandoned as a newborn at a Kenyan hospital, Jeremiah had no trace of his family. Thankfully, he was rescued and brought to a Chariots for Hope baby home, where he received the holistic care and love he desperately needed. While police searched for his relatives, Jeremiah was given the opportunity to thrive in a nurturing environment at Chariots for Hope where he found a loving family in his peers and Chariots caregivers.

Today, the 11-year-old Jeremiah has completed grade 5 and has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In alignment with Kenya’s initiative to prioritize placing children in family units whenever possible, Chariots partners with the Kenyan government and local officials to support the placement of orphaned children into available adoptive families. Jeremiah benefited from this initiative through collaborative efforts with Chariots’ caregivers and local police. Jeremiah was adopted into a loving family.

His future was brightened when he was introduced to his now adoptive family (pictured above). The Chariots team and local police officers made multiple visits to the family’s home, ensuring a safe, stable environment for Jeremiah to continue to thrive.

Jeremiah’s Chariots caregiver shared, “I’m so happy for him. Though he loved his Chariots’ sponsors, the children, and the staff members here, he is so happy to have his own Mom and brother. We will miss him so much but are praising the Lord for his provision.”

Jeremiah met his adoptive brother who was thrilled to welcome him as a new brother into their family. The court granted the adoption request in 2024, turning the page to the next chapter in Jeremiah’s story.

Jeremiah’s journey from abandonment to the care of a Chariots for Hope children’s home, and now to a loving family perfectly depicts the heart of Chariots’ mission. Chariots for Hope finds the best outcomes for every child as they escape poverty and experience hope through Jesus Christ. Chariots children’s homes become a family to each and every rescued child, but there’s nothing more special than when a child is united with their forever family.
