Jodi Bohr

Board Member

Jodi Bohr’s primary job, other than being a mother and grandmother, is teaching music to students in grades 3 through 5 at Germantown Academy in Fort Washington, where she has taught since September 1992. In addition to this, she has served as the organist and interim music director at First United Methodist Church of Germantown since August 2019, and she has accompanied the Philadelphia Girls Choir since 2012.

She has a strong interest in mission work and has traveled with her family a number of times to work with YWAM (Youth With a Mission) in Kyiv, Ukraine, teaching about Christ to neighborhood children, working with orphans there, and teaching classes at the University of the Nations.

In her work at Germantown Academy, Jodi teaches music of Africa to her students, and learning music in Africa from people in Africa is what initially led her to her involvement with Chariots for Hope (with much encouragement from former student Mark Wakeman.)

She has been blessed by several trips to Kenya with the help of Chariots for Hope and is excited to continue to spend time in Kenya learning, teaching, listening, building relationships, and encouraging the staff and children of the homes supported by Chariots.

Jodi has been a child sponsor since 2018 and has the privilege of supporting one of the students who grew up at Kaptagat Children’s Home as he attends university here in the US. She is grateful for and humbled and excited by the opportunity to serve on the Board of Chariots.
